一种新颖的功率集成电路的过流保护设计
Design of Novel Power IC Over-current Protection Circuit
【摘要】 根据热阻与电流的关系,提出一种新颖的功率集成电路的过流保护电路。通过对过流情况下电源电流与结温关系的研究发现,当芯片出现过流情况时,芯片温度会迅速升高,从而导致芯片因过流而失效。基于以上的研究结果提出利用芯片中的过热保护电路来实现过流保护,既节省了芯片面积又保证了芯片性能,从而提高了产品的性价比。通过实际测试所设计芯片的数据,证明了本电路设计的合理性。
【Abstract】 Based on the relationship between current and thermal resistance,a novel power IC over current protection circuit is introduced.Studying on the relationship between source current and junction temperature on over-current condi-tion reveals that chip temperature rapidly soars when chip is over-current,which leads the chip to failure.Based on the fact above,an over-current circuit implemented by ments of inherent over-heat circuit is introduced.The new design reduces chip area and improves performance/price ratio.The actual chip test results meet the design requirements well.
