【Abstract】 GIS have been widely applied in urban planning because of their powerful spatial data han- dling capabilities. This paper develops the framework and methodologies of geographical simulation sys- tems (GSS). GSS will provide the powerful simula- tion functions that are quite weak in existing GIS. The core of GSS is cellular automata and multi-agent systems. GSS can be used to simulate, predict, opti- mize and analyze complex natural systems. It can be used to facilitate the modeling of complex human- environment interactions in solving land use problems.更多还原
