Studies on the Pore Structure of Metal Coating Activated Carbon Fibers
【Abstract】 The pore distribution of metal coating activated carbon fibers were analyzed by HK, BJH and Dubinin theories from the nitrogen adsorption isotherms measured by auto adsorption meter. The results indicated that the palladium/copper coating activated carbon fiber mainly contains micro-pores which present narrow distribution. When the coating amount of palladium/copper increases, the volume of middle-pores of the fiber increases and the peak diameter of pore distribution and mean micro-pore diameter increase slightly. However, the maximum micro-pore volume and BET surface area of the fiber will decrease as the metal content rises to over 10%, There is a close relationship between the pore structure of metal coating activated carbon fiber and its catalytic reaction ability.
