【Abstract】 According to the example of a project of heavy tamping treatment for foundation with a thick layer of recently deposited miscellaneous fill containing mud,a consolidation method of “precompression before tamping”is presented:the tamping is light first and then becomes weightier and weightier with energy gradually added. The article analyses the effect of heavy tamping treatment of foundation of recently deposited miscellaneous fill on the basis of the quality test after heavy tamping and long-term survey after constructing.
