【Abstract】 Ibandronate is a newly developed third generation bisphosphonate with the highest potency, relative to other members of its class, in inhibiting bone resorption, and with much higher advantage with regard to the tolerability in clinical study. The authors reviewed the treatment with ibandronate of cancer bone-transffer or tumor-induced hypercalcaemia, and the clinical pharmacokinetic profiles and tolerability of ibandronate. The clinical safety of the drug has been evaluated too. Ibandronate has also been used with great success in late phase clinical trials for the treatment of postmenopausal women with osteoporosis, and for the treatment of Paget’s disease.更多还原
