Effects of Different Protein Levels on Digestion and Metabolism of Inner Mongolian White Cashmere Goats
【Abstract】 9 castrated male Inner Mongolian White Cashmere Goats(two years old)with permanent ruminal and duodenal cannulas were used to study the effects of different protein levels in the diets containing the same sulfur sources(sodium sulfate)and the same nitrogen to sulfur ratio(7.60∶1),on the nutrients digestion and metabolism. The results showed as follows:Retained nitrogen and sulfur of group Ⅱ(CP 9.41%)were higher than that of group Ⅰ(CP 7.14%)and group Ⅲ(CP 10.77%)(P<0.05).The total ruminal nitrogen flow and digesta nitrogen flow into the duodenum of group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were higher than those of group Ⅰ(P<0.05).Ruminal microbial nitrogen of group Ⅱ were higher than that of group Ⅰ and group Ⅲ(P<0.05).Microbial nitrogen flow into duodenum of group Ⅱ and group Ⅲ were higher than that of group Ⅰ(P<0.05).Ruminal total sulfur flow of group Ⅱ were higher than that of group Ⅰ and group Ⅲ(P<0.05),but the total sulfur flow into the duodenum of different groups had no difference(P>0.05).The optimal N retention was 4.17(g/d)and the optimal S retention was 0.337(g/d)when CP in the diet was 8.87% and sulfur was 0.186%.So the optimal feeding level of IMWCG(two-year-old)was a little higher than the maintaining level.
