【Abstract】 To study the calculation and standardization of potential years of life lost (PYLL) in detail that people working on statistics can identify and use it. Through discussing the definition of PLYY, the presumption of the calculation formula, this article expounds the essence of PYLL. The precise calculation method and median method were pointed out. The standardized calculation method and selection standard were probed. [Conclusion] It is important to use median to calculate PYLL and SPYLL to improve accuracy. The selection of standardized population should be very close to the distribution of the target population.更多还原
