一种新型多层膜结构的法拉第旋转器
A New Type of Faraday Rotator Composed of Multilayer Films
【摘要】 采用多层薄膜结构的特殊结构 ,在稳恒磁场中可达到较大的旋转角度 ,可用于制作光隔离器用法拉第旋转器 .通过特征矩阵的办法可对其传输特性进行计算 ,并由此推导出几种可行的结构 ,厚度只有数 1 0μm,插入损耗约 0 .5 d B.
【Abstract】 Because of the localization effect in multilayer film structure, it can have a large rotation angle when under the constant magnetic field. A new type of Faraday rotator composed of a stack of magneto optical layers and dielectric layers was discussed. It is comparable of the traditional bulk materials made rotator. By using the matrix approach, the transmission characteristics can be determined numerically. Since multilayer films structures are sensitive to the order with the layers, a rotator of only some ten micrometers length and about 0.5 dB insert loss can be made. And the rotators of lower insert loss and even smaller size are expected.
