【Abstract】 In his play Julius Caesar, Shakespeare treats ambiguously such subjects as whether Caesar is a tyrant, what kind of governmental system the Roman plebeians prefer, and what political attitude Antony holds, paying special attention to exhibiting dynamically the varied possibilities of humanity as shown in the dramatic personae.Brutus, the play’s hero, in each case, takes one of these possibilities for granted to the exclusion of the rest and mistakes it for reality.This confused sense of reality and possibility turns out Brutus’s tragic flaw that underlies all the major decisions he makes and consequently results in his own ruin.更多还原
