【Abstract】 The bicultural identity of the translator makes it impossible for him to ignore completely the target socio-cultural factors. Actually, they dominate to some extent the translator抯 comprehension and interpretation of the source text. The present paper discusses the influence of socio-cultural factors on the translator in terms of ideology, literary tradition and norms, and cultural values. The writer argues that these factors should be taken into consideration in the theoretical system of translation criticism for an objective, scientific and holistic evaluation of a translation.更多还原
