【Abstract】 More attention has been paid to overall analysis of the industrial structure while less to the trade features of the industry. In this paper the present trade features and spatial distribution features of the industry in Dongguan are analyzed and summarized from the view of trade structure of the industry. The aims of the paper are just making an inquiry into the developing track of the foreigncapitalpromoted industrialization model under the open policy and providing a train of thought for regional development of China. From 1985 to 1999, the trade structure of the industry in Dongguan has experienced notable changes. It is shown that the level of processing and technology intensification is raised, the new industries grow into the dominant industries, and the industry centralization is enhanced. However, although the electronic and telecommunication equipment production has become the most important and manufacture is still the main part of the industry in Dongguan, there are still a lot of small industries there, and the trade status of the industry in Dongguan is not very high in Guangdong province, as compared with those in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. In general, the spatial distribution of the industry in Dongguan is quite dispersive, but major industries take on a trend to concentrate in some areas.更多还原
