【Abstract】 William Golding was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1983. His representative novel is Lord of the Flies. It is an adventure story in the tradition of Defoe’s Robinson Crusoe. The theme is an attempt to trace the defect of society back to the defeat of human nature. The moral is that the shape of a society must depend on the ethical nature of the individual and not on any political system however apparently logical or respectable.更多还原
