【摘要】 本文在回顾传统隐喻理论的基础上 ,对隐喻研究的两个重要领域—隐喻的本质和隐喻的理解作了重点讨论 ,并指出了存在的问题。作者认为 ,虽然许多研究者讨论的都是隐喻 ,但他们对隐喻的概念和范围却有不同的认识。要对隐喻的本质有更清晰的理解 ,必须对隐喻的概念、隐喻种类作出明确的定义。隐喻理解过程实际上就是隐喻机制发挥其作用的过程。隐喻史上的“替换论”、“对比论” ,以及现代隐喻理论中的“互动论”、“映射论”、“合成空间理论”等都是旨在解释隐喻工作机制的理论。仔细研究它们的理论背景和内容 ,我们可以发现它们之间并非是互相排斥、互相矛盾的关系。在对它们进行整合的基础上 ,我们可以更深刻地揭示隐喻的工作机制和意义发生的特点。作者还从隐喻学的历史研究、隐喻理论的整合、隐喻理论的应用几个方面谈了对今后研究方向的看法更多还原

【Abstract】 The author of this paper discusses a number of problems in the study of metaphor and suggests possible directions in future studies. After a brief review of the drawbacks of the traditional approach to metaphor,the author focuses his discussion on the nature and working mechanisms of metaphor. The author believes that past studies aiming at explaining the working mechanisms of metaphor,such as the "Comparison Theory","Interaction Theory" and "Mapping Theory",etc.,are not really competing theories but complement one another. A better account of the mechanism of metaphor needs to be based on a careful study and integration of existing theories. The author also discusses such issues as historical studies of metaphor,the application of metaphor theories,etc.更多还原
