【Abstract】 Amino acid classification based on protein structures is discussed. The information redundancy of protein secondary structures for given amino acid classification is defined. By use of maximization of information redundancy ( R MAX ), we deduce the amino acid classification for the number of groups from 20 to 2. A hierarchy of the amino acid reduction is deduced. Finally we have obtained the relation between R MAX and reduced number.更多还原
