【Abstract】 The effects that the adjustment to the die flash height has caused on the striking force of the forging die, the inner pressure of the die cavity, the deformation of the gear_shaped die at the large end and the actual flash thickness of the forged parts were stated. It was turned out that control on the die flash height is a simple and effective way for extending the service life of the fine forging die for semi_shaft spur conical gears.
