【Abstract】 Various associated meanings are bestowed on various figures by different nations in different countries or regions. As a result, common figures have the intelligence of transcending languages and reflect different kinds of cultures. Though the connotations and extensions of the numerals share some common metaphorical meanings, there are still certain distinctive discrepancies which reflect different cultures of different nations. Therefore, a comparison and an analysis of the figures will help us understand the culture of China and those in English speaking countries and enable us to avoid misunderstanding or conflicts caused by cultural differences in cross cultural communications.更多还原
