“飞越北极”的最省时模型
Solution to a Problem of Fly North Pole
【摘要】 对“飞机飞越北极,北京至底特律可节约4小时”的问题分两种情况建立了数学模型, 并由题设条件进行合理假设,进行求解.
【Abstract】 This paper concerns the time spent from Beijing to Detrotit via the Arctic. If the plane flies across the north pole it will save about 4 hours. The ptocess is divide into two situations. Then the author construct a mathmatic model. Firstly, suppose the earth as a static spheroid and work out the distance of original and new air lines. Calculate the time respectively and contrast the two. It takes 3. 98 hours less than before. Secondly, discuss the case of the earth as a revolving ellipsoid and draw the conclusion that it saves 4. 02 hours.
