【Abstract】 The product structure is a crucial issue for PDM/CAPP integration. After brieflysummarizing several methods of PDM/CAPP integration, this paper puts forward aproduct structure modeling method based on STEP and UML. STEP-based applicationprotocols used in describing product structure information are discussed. The basicprocedure of mapping product structure model between PDM and CAPP is yielded.
