【Abstract】 A new off line recognition method for handwritten Chinese characters, Hidden Markov Model(HMM) is presented. It constructs 8 HMMs for each Chinese character, and synthesizes the results of the 8 HMMs by equal proportion method, then gets the final recognition result.
