【摘要】 通常认为英语存在句中名词词组应该为非确指性。人们曾提出各种观点来解释这种确指限制产生的原因。然而大量例句表明 ,只要语境允许 ,所有种类的名词词组都可以用于存在句。至于应该有一种什么样的语义或语境条件 ,目前还没有统一的理论阐释 ,要全面系统地解释这一现象还需要进一步的研究更多还原

【Abstract】 It is commonly believed that only indefinite NPs cab be used in the English existentials, and many theories have been hypothesized to explain the restriction. However, it is well supported by abundant examples listed in the paper that all categories of NPs can be found in the existentials when proper contexts are provided. Further research is needed concerning the above-mentioned semantic and contextual conditions since there lacks satisfactory explanation.更多还原
