【Abstract】 Legacy information systems which contain the domain expertise and reflect the business logic are backbones of the information flow for modern enterprises and incorporates. To make full use of the knowledge and resource contained in legacy systems, some technical approaches must be applied to them. So understanding the strengths and weaknesses of each approach is paramount to select the correct solution. This paper provides a survey of legacy system , different aptitudes toward it and various adopted techniques including screen scraping, database gateway, XML integration.
