【Abstract】 This paper explores the theories of collaborative environment and gives a comparison among different collabo-rative environment architectures.Java is a platform-independent and Internet-oriented programming language,however it does not have built-in mechanisms for developing multi-user collaborative applications.Through extending and enhancing Java platform,the authors have designed and implemented a collaborative environment ,Virtual Collaborative Environment ,based on the replicated architecture.It offers quick response time and lower network traffic and has more flexibility to be used to communication over the Internet.更多还原
