【Abstract】 This paper explores the possibility of bridging the quantitative and qualitative research. The issue is significant for it involves the problem of separating theory and method as well as the gap problem between quantitative and qualitative approaches in sociology. Nevertheless, if we examine the Grounded Theory inquiry and Causal Modeling approach carefully, we may find that the similarity between the two approaches is fundamental. The difference is technical. In fact, the technical differences do not suggest contradiction. Rather, they imply complementary relationship. Such findings suggest that there may be a solution for the problem mentioned above if we combine the two approaches together when we conduct sociological researches.更多还原
