【Abstract】 Michael Hoey once put forward three thought patterns in English: the Problem_Solution pattern, General-Particular pattern and Matching pattern .The present paper attempts to prove through analysis of a practical discourse the representative features of one of the thought patterns--the Problem-Solution pattern in storical discourses.This paper also analyzes the three metaphorical layers in storical discourses, suggesting that the discourse composed in the Problem-Solution pattern should bring to the readers some hint in how to solve problems.更多还原
