【Abstract】 The geotechnical investigation in the old urban area is very difficult to carry out because of all kinds of reasons such as a narrow working site, a large number of dwells and so on. The shortage of geotechnical investigation data influences the process of the reconstruction in this area. Therefore, it is very necessary to make a reasonable evaluation of the geological engineering conditions of the foundation in light of the data gained in or near the proposed building area. The evaluation report makes the engineering design be done easily and shortens the period of the project and provides a base for project budget.
