【Abstract】 Perfect reconstruction(PR) filter banks were recognized as useful in signal processing, particularly after the combination with wavelet analysis. Since then, it has become an efficient technique for computing discrete wavelet transform. The paper expounds and compares the design of wavelet and perfect reconstruction filter banks in detail.
