【Abstract】 PCI 9080 is a PCI to local accelerator chip developed by PLX Technology Inc. and it supports the Master/Slave transmission modes. The main properties of PCI bus and PCI 9080 and the structure within the chip are presented. The transmission features of DMA, Direct Master, Direct Slave, response process of bus periodic signal, bus operating mode of PCI 9080, configuration space, loading manner and initialization process are analyzed. The block diagram and the description for concrete function modules of hardware design for PCI data sampling card are given in the end.
