【Abstract】 Avian endemism is considered an important indicator of species diversity, and is also essential for setting priorities (“hot spots”) in biodiversity conservation. However, since many papers and books on China′s endemic bird species in cluding have different checklists, a revised check list of China′s endemic birds was called for. This paper revises the checklist of China′s endemic bird species, including species which are mainly found in China but are occassionally encountered in adjacent areas as stragglers, winter visitors or breeding birds but without subspeciation. There are currently 106 species listed belonging to 7 orders, 15 families and 55 genera, of which 77 species are only found in China.更多还原
