【Abstract】 Image compression based on Lossless or nearly Lossless Region of Interest(ROI ),means to com-press interesting regions in an image without loss,and to compress uninteresting regions with loss.Thus,desired high fidelity image information is acquired while remaining a high compress rate.This technology solves the dif-ference between the image quality and the compress rate.JPEG2000is the currently worked out by ISO/IEC as a new compression standard for still images.One of the important technologies in JPEG2000is the"Region Of In-terest(ROI )coding".This paper describes the technology in JPEG2000and mainly explains the MAXSHIFT method in ROI coding of JPEG2000.更多还原
