【Abstract】 A new framework for the design of a CAx information management and integrated system (CAx\|IMIS) based on STEP integration technologies is proposed in this paper according to the design requirements of computer integrated manufacturing system. It uses the Pro/E system to generate and manage the part model based on the feature information .The basic idea of realizing data exchange through STEP neutral file which is generated by using SDAI is illustrated.
