高速数字光通信系统中高阶PMD限制研究
Research on the Limitation of Higher-order PMD to High-speed Digital Fiber Communication Systems
【摘要】 从高阶偏振模色散(PMD)的定义出发,在所建立的高阶PMD数值模型的基础上,通过数值模拟的方法探讨了高阶PMD对于40Gbit/sNRZ系统的影响.计算结果显示,当PMD大于8ps时,在一阶PMD完全补偿的情况下,高阶PMD所造成的眼图代价将大于2dB.这表明在高速数字光纤通信系统中,高阶PMD效应已经十分明显且不容忽略.
【Abstract】 The definition of higherorder polarization mode dispersion (PMD) is presented firstly in this paper. Then, based on the numerical model of higherorder PMD introduced in it, the impact of higherorder PMD on the 40 Gbit/s NRZ systems is discussed with numerical simulation. The result shows that if the PMD is higher than 8ps, eyeopening penalty due to only higherorder PMD will be larger than 2 dB. This demonstrates that the effect of higherorder PMD on the high bitrate digital fiber communication systems is very obvious and cannot be neglected.
