【摘要】 针对骨骼模型结构离散化特点 ,在一般边崩塌算法的基础上 ,提出了一种基于顶点对融合的模型简化算法。该算法不仅适用于连续的三维模型 ,而且适用于像骨骼一样的骨骼块之间不连续的三维模型。通过实际的脚骨骼模型简化 ,证明了该算法的有效性和实用性

【Abstract】 The edge collapse is a general mesh simplification approach. By successively removing edge, a hierarchy of levels of detail (LOD) is generated during the simplification process. The paper aims at the discrete of bones and gives an algorithm of mesh simplification based on pair vertex contraction, on the basis of edge collapse. The method is applied to not only the connected models, but also the unconnected models which have unconnected regions in the model like bone models. The algorithm is testified valid and useful by using the method to simplify the bone model of human’s left foot.
