【Abstract】 The paper reports the research and solutions on virtual product design in 720 institute. Product design requires the collaboration among design engineers for various activities associated with these processes. A distributed and collaborative development environment VCDE is established to support such working mode. It provides the following facilities: ProcessManager for deploying and managing the design process, DesignerSpace offering a working place for decomposed design task, and an intelligent collaborative mechanism for communicating among engineers and design services. The prototype VCDE system has been implemented on MS Windows NT4.0 and demonstrated by a component design of aircraft engine.更多还原
