【Abstract】 A jack-up offshore platform was designed with a large opening in its middle part in order to increase the function of the rig. Obviously,with such large size of opening (33.75m long and 18.5m wide),the general structural strength of the platform will be greatly weakened if the current rulers was still used in the design.For the sake of safety of the structure, the strength of the whole platform was analyzed by using three dimension finite element method. The result shows that the original design is unreasonable and unsuitable. An improved structural design is then proposed and some useful conclusions are drawn in this paper.更多还原
