【Abstract】 The cell of the unicellular red alga Porphyridium spp. is rich in useful bioactive materials such as polysaccharide, polyunsaturated fatty acids (AA and EPA) and phycobiliproteins. Therefore, Porphyridium spp. has broad utilization prospects for pharmaceutical and fine chemical industry. The overseas studies on it have been reported systematically since 1960, but few researches have been made in China. In this paper, the biological characteristics, bioactive materials, culture method and culture property of Porphyridium spp. are reviewed.更多还原
