【Abstract】 Z39 50 has special advantages concerning of information search and retrieval from heterogeneous systems. The purpose of a Z39 50/Web gateway is to extend the scope of application of Z39 50 by taking advantage of the ease and accessibility provided by the Web. The paper first introduces some of major aspects of Z39 50 standard. And then the model of developing Web-based Z39 50 applications is discussed. At last the rules for designing and implementing a practical Z39 50/Web gateway system for bibliographic information search and retrieval are mainly described.更多还原
