【Abstract】 Objective To study the role of the Centre Blood Station in control of HIV trans mission by blood transfusion in AIDS high incidence rate area. Methods Routes of transmission of 45 cases HIV infeetived persons were analysed in the Enshi prefecture.Results HIV infective rate of plasma(or blood)donors is 88.89% (40/45) .HIV transmission through blood transfusion is 6.67% (3/45) . Mother To child transmission is 2.22% (1/45) .Spouse route infeetived rate is 2.22% (1/45). Conclusion The main transmission route of HIV in Enshi was through contaminated blood.Thus.
