【Abstract】 Yung Wing (Rong Hong) was one of the forerunners in modern times that advocated learning from the West, and was sent to America by the late Qing to serve as the envoy in the initial stage. His lifetime activities had all the links with the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom, the Westernization Movement, the Reform Movement of 1898 and the Revolution of 1911.
