【Abstract】 A brief introduction on OPAC and its application situation in China was made in this paper. The future developing tendency of OPAC in our country will focus on following directions: INTERNET and WWW-based service, supporting Z39.50 protocol, strengthening subject information, richer retrieval contents, multi-retrieving strategic, supporting retrieval mode by natural language, powerful reference consultation role as well as the function of exchange among libraries.
