【Abstract】 We discussed dilute salt (0.01 mol L -1 ) extractable P for characterizing the capacity of P supply of Calcareous soils. The dilute extractable P was significantly correlated with relative P uptake of winter wheat evaluated by pot experiments. The dilute extractable P was also related to the P extracted by using other methods, such as Olsen, Machigin, Al-Abbas, Mehlich, Mesheryakov and EUF. The supposed method here is simple, rapid, and cheap. In addition, it has the advantage of simultaneous determination of N, P, K and many other nutrients.
