【Abstract】 The currently development situation of Al2O3 matrix ceramic and Si3N4 matrix ceramic cutting tools is elaborated in this paper. The physical performance and cutting performance of which are discussed. The characteristics of Al2O3 matrix ceramic and Si3N4 matrix ceramic cutting tools are described. The cutting fields of which and the suitable machining values are discussed emphatically.
