【Abstract】 The necessity and the importance for making a standard on universal couplings for oil drilling rig are interpreted, and main technical content and the features of the standard , that is, forms and types of universal couplings for oil drilling rig, the basic parameters and methods to determine them, the principle of determining concrete technical condition, are introduced. In addition, difference from other related standards are discussed, such as the method of determining torque used for driving various working parts of rig, requirement for dynamic balancing, inspecting flow and test rules,etc..
