【Abstract】 To appreciate and understand better Faulkner’s outstanding novel The Sound and the Fury, the article takes general analysis and typical verification to analyze the symbolic meaning of the title of The Sound and the Fury, the symbolic implications of Christian archetypal characters and symbols in the novel and to disclose Faulkner’s deep and objective exploration into human, society, especially himself. A further understanding and a new knowing of Faulkner are achieved. It has a certain meaning to appreciate and understand Faulkner’s great and profound thought and artistic features.更多还原
