【摘要】 比喻性习语在英汉语言中大量存在。在表现相同或相似意义时 ,两种语言可使用相同的喻体或完全不同的喻体 ,但由于英汉习语产生于不同的社会、文化背景 ,反映了不同的思维方式 ,即使使用的喻体相同 ,其内涵意义可能相去甚远 ,同时带有不同的感情色彩 ,或产生迥异的语境效果。恰当地使用英汉习语 ,可以增强语言感染力 ,突出人物形象 ,烘托气氛更多还原

【Abstract】 Metaphorical expressions abound in both English and Chinese. In expressing the same or similar ideas, the two languages can employ either identical or different referents. Yet owing to the different social and cultural backgrounds against which metaphorical expressions have evolved, they may vary greatly in meaning, along with emotional coloring and achieved contextual effect, the same referent are utilized, though.
