【Abstract】 Genetic algorithm is a kind of random search algorithm for global, which based on nature evlutionary principle. This paper introduced the characteristics of genetic algorithm, expatiated the related problem of the modern logistics system. The author studied the application method of genetic algorthm for modern logistics system in the location problem, the delivery problem, the scheduling problem, the transportation problem and the layout problem, etc. The six application examples show that the method is validity and suitable to solve some problems for modern logistics system, and it has certainly value for practices.
