【Abstract】 In the late 19 th century and early 20 th century, leaving aside Britain, America on its own put forth the “Open Door” Policy, which was the continuation of the U.S. policy towards China. At the time when the imperialist powers were dividing up China, America put forth the “Open Door” Policy in order to replace armed invasion and occupation with free competition with trade and investment. The motive for doing this was egoism, but objectively this to certain extent restrained other imperialist countries from invading China with arms.更多还原
