【Abstract】 The CORBA component model(CCM)has been adopted recently. Since the CCM standard supports greater software reuse for servers,application programmers now have a standard way to develop general-purpose client/server applications. However,due to the complexity of the standard and relative immaturity of implementations, CCM is not yet appropriate for mission-critical applications with high-performance requirements. Thus, there is increasing demand to extend Object Request Broker (ORB) middleware to support distributed applications with high performance requirements. This paper describes the design principles and optimizations to develop a high-performance implementation of CORBA which supports CCM.
