Chemiluminescence reaction of sulfide ion with potassium permanganate in the presence of formaldehyde as an enhancer was investigated. A new chemiluminescence method for determination of sulfur with flow injection technique was developed. The detection limit is 2 3×10 -8 g/mL The relative standard deviation is 1 2%(6 0×10 -7 g/mL S 2- , n =11). The linear range is 1 0×10 -7 ～1 0×10 -5 g/mL S 2- .
