【Abstract】 We chose the laminaria longissima and the local earlier-thickening KELP laminaria japonica to take advantage of their great difference in shape and properties as male and female parent for hybridization, then obtained the filial generation F1. After 5 year’s continuous self-copulation between F1 and selected rearing, the new variety of kelp “901” was obtained. The new variety of kelp has many economical characteristics, such as rapid growth and high temperature resistance. Its body is wide and long with a clear channel in the middle and a brown color all over the body. The shape of its base is like a wedge and a slight bow-like shape appears at about 1m near the base. Two year’s productive practice proves that the new variety of kelp “901” has the properties of stable heredity, high yield and fine quality.更多还原
