【Abstract】 When an independent engineering college merges with other educational institutions and becomes a part of a comprehensive university, it is necessary to study how to take best advantage of its comprehensiveness and ameliorate engineering education itself. The paper herein enumerates the advantages for developing engineering education within merged comprehensive universities and specifies some ideas for its development in light of modern engineering education.
